Origin of Ekindle Cameroon

Enkindle Cameroon is an initiative of Goodness and Mercy Missions that was started in 2016 by Teh Francis as a means of promoting the socio-economic empowerment of rural women in Cameroon. The organization provides leadership training for women to have independence and leadership in their own destinies, and also business training and Table Banking so that they can be self-sufficient as individuals. This enables them to make their own independent financial decisions. It is only when women have sustainable work and income that they can make major contributions to their children’s education.

Enkindle Cameroon: Igniting Passion, Unlocking Potential

Enkindle Cameroon is a visionary sub-project of Goodness and Mercy Missions, established in 2016 by the organization’s director. The initiative was born out of a conviction that rural communities possess inherent worth, valuable knowledge, and untapped resources that can be harnessed to improve their own well-being. Rather than relying on externally imposed, top-down solutions, Enkindle Cameroon seeks to help people discover, develop, and ignite their passions from within.

At the heart of this vision is the belief that sustainable development begins with local empowerment.

Our Core Philosophy

Enkindle Cameroon is built on a simple but transformative principle: local people already know much, have much, and can do much. External contributions should not replace their abilities but rather complement and amplify them. The goal is to unlock inner passion, elevate local initiatives, and create pathways for self-driven community transformation.

Enkindle Cameroon exists to discover, inspire, and ignite the potential that already lies within rural communities empowering individuals to take charge of their own growth and future.

Key Program Areas

1. Hands-On Business and Table Banking

Through this initiative, rural women come together to create a community-based fund from which they can access hassle-free loans for their individual business ventures. These funds are entirely owned and managed by the women themselves, giving them financial autonomy, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening household resilience.

2. Child Advancement and Talent Support Program

While Goodness and Mercy Missions focuses on supporting underprivileged children, Enkindle Cameroon expands this mandate by also identifying and nurturing talented children especially those whose parents lack the means to help them reach their full educational potential. This program ensures that gifted young people are not left behind due to financial limitations.

Our Needs

Ongoing Projects

1. Service Bikes to Access Enclave Project Areas:

At the moment, the organization is in need of two service motor bikes to access areas where our project activities are carried out. There are some rural communities that one can reach only by means of a motor bike or by trekking. This makes it difficult for some project activities to be carried out, especially when it entails carrying material or provisions to our target beneficiaries. One such motor bike to access these communities cost $2018.

2. Toyota Pick Up to ease Rural Farmers Transportation of Farm Produce to Home or Market:

Most of our target beneficiaries are rural farmers and cultivate their crops in the forest or in faraway places like Mujang and Mbueni. They mighthave made substantial gain, had they had a safe means of transporting their harvest from farm to home or market. The cost of
transportation on motorbikes or vans is always costly, and some women take initiative to carry on their heads or on their backs. This is very detrimental to their health. It is also time consuming and a greater amount of their produce gets spoiled in the farm. With a service van (single cabin pick up van), crops of these women reach home or the market in time, and at a reduced cost. Cost of 2nd Hand Single Cabin Pick up Van is about $8000.
